International travel is nearly impossible right now, but Zoom travel is available to everyone, including the members of Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles. Last week, they took a tour of Paris that included a talk by Rabbi Tom Cohen, direct from his office in our new home at Porte de Champerret. Rabbi Tom gave a fascinating talk on being Jewish in France, from both a historical and contemporary point of view. At the end of the talk there was a lively question and answer session with members of the Beth Am community on issues like anti-semitism in France, mixed marriages, interfaith communication, and what Jewish cooking tastes like on this side of “the pond.” Rabbi Tom also introduced participants to Kehilat Gesher’s mission, activities, and offered an open invitation to join us when they visit Paris in person!
