This is the moment to renew your membership, if you haven’t already done so (and thank you for so many of you who have already taken that step… it really does affect the health of our synagogue). It is also the moment to take your seats for Tishri. I, Tal and the KG choir are looking forward to sharing this powerful moment together.

May this year, 5783, be one in which we search for, and find, what it really means to be Jewish. Let us discover Talmud Torah (Jewish Study); let us try new Mitzvot – whether it’s Shabbat, Kashrut, Hakarat HaTov (finding the good in the other), or Hachnasat Orchim, (hospitality) – both in our homes and in our congregation. Let us explore the possibilities and the beauties of Mitzvot Bein Adam Lechaveiro (commandments that pertain to other human beings) – through Tzedakah (justice and generosity), Bikkur Cholim (visiting the sick), Nichum Avelim (comforting mourners), and if we’re lucky, dancing and rejoicing before a Jewish bride and groom.
The possibilities are endless… but it is up to us to put it into action.
Shana Tovah, rav Tom
